北海道・新千歳空港国際線ターミナル直結のホテル、「ポルトムインターナショナル北海道」４F ロビーフロア内の茶室。

通常、ホテルの茶室は屋根はなく内装のみで、奥まった場所に限られた利用者のみのものとして計画されることが多いが、本計画ではホテルロビー階に計画され、屋根をもち、誰もが訪れることのできる茶室として計画されている。茅葺屋根に円窓を設けた二畳台目の小間の茶室、露地を望む八畳の広間、靴のまま利用できる立礼席、大広間を備えた本格的な茶室となっている。
避難安全検証により内装制限の緩和措置が認められ、木材等は不燃処理をすることなく素材本来の良さを生かしている。


A Japanese tearoom, SEIFU-AN, is located in Portom International, a luxury hotel within the International Terminal Building of New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.
In many cases, the design of the tearoom in the hotel is only the interior with no roof, and it is often planned in out-of-sight places with unapproachable atmosphere. However, in this project, it was planned to place the tearoom on the hotel lobby floor, where anyone could visit. It is an independent tearoom with a roof and surrounded by a stone garden, so guests do not feel they are inside of the hotel.
The carefully selected rustic wood, stone and paper will act as intermediaries to bring the imagination of guests far from the airport hotel to a more natural place.
