季節の花を包む折紙の花入。
株式会社 竹尾「気包紙」の新製品を記念した展覧会「KI･HOU･SHI Tactile×Visual 触覚×視覚」のためにデザインした。
コンピュテーショナル・オリガミによって手びねり感を与えた花入は、花を引き立てるため、陰（shade）を錯覚させるような印刷を施し、自身の存在感を消すことを試みている。
気包紙GL-FS ならではの高い印刷再現性により、濃淡生成のインタラクティブシステムのシミュレーションどおりに実現した。
手びねりのようなゆがみの生成には、舘知宏氏が独自に開発した折紙設計のシステム "Freeform Origami"* を用いている。

(*)Freeform Origami; 一枚の紙から折れる「可展性」、コンパクトに折りたためる「平坦可折性」といった、本質的な幾何学を保ったまま、自在に立体折紙形状を変形させることのできるインタラクティブ設計システム。

Anti-shaded origami vase SHADE is a vase I designed to commemorate a new product from Takeo, Kihoushi. A vase contorted as if twisted by hand using computational origami by origami researcher Tomohiro Tachi (associate professor, University of Tokyo) gives a pointed impression with its conspicuous triangular form, and the presence of the vase itself is too strong. So I attempted to obscure its presence by printing a subtle light and dark surface that gives an illusion of shades. As the brain judges that it must be flat since there’s no shadow (as the shade is even in chromatic information), it is a mysterious vase that is three dimensional yet has no shadows. It resulted in a vase that enhances the flowers just as I planned.
