幻視の縄張り
自然の中に居場所をつくるべく、建物の建ち方によって縄張りを生み出すことを考えた。
大きな柱が敷地の真ん中にあり、その柱に大きなティピーを張ったイメージ。そのティピーの一部を形に留め建築とする。大きな柱とティピーを実際に建てるわけではないが、イメージとしての柱を中心とした縄張りが生まれ、居場所となる。
具体的には、敷地の中央を広場のように空け、2つの正方形の領域を端に配置した。正方形を角度を変えつつ反復することで、敷地の真ん中を中心とした円環状のリズムが生まれ、イメージとしての縄張りが形成される。
2つの正方形の領域をかたちづくる骨格には、丸太による門型を採用した。門型は人間が作る最も原初的な空間の一つである。
その門型のフレームの上に、タープのようなイメージで急勾配の屋根を掛けた。急勾配ゆえに、ある視点では屋根が視界から消えてしまう。便宜的に屋根と呼んでいるものの、存在としては屋根でも壁でもなく、居場所の背後を守るための要素である。
そして2つの正方形の間は、山の斜面をそのまま取り込んだようなスペースとし、少し掘り込んでリビングとした。ガラスの屋根による極めて開放的な雰囲気ながら、少しづつ角度と寸法が変化する木の梁により、木陰のような透け具合と安心感を生み出している。
Implied Territory
In order to create a place in nature, we thought of creating territories
through the arrangement of buildings.
Imagine a large central pillar with a large tepee stretched over it—while
the pillar and tepee are not physically built, this conceptual pillar defines
a symbolic territory, forming a distinct space. The site’ s center is left
open like a plaza, with two square spaces positioned at its edges. By repeating
and shifting these squares at different angles, a circular rhythm emerges,
forming an image of the territory.
The framework of these squares utilizes gate-like wooden logs, one of
the most primal spatial structures created by humans. On the gate-shaped
frame, a steeply sloped roof is placed, resembling a tarp.Although it is
called a roof for convenience, it is neither a roof nor a wall, but an
element to protect the back of the place. Between the two squares, the
natural mountain slope is embraced, slightly excavated to create a living
space.
While the glass roof has an extremely open atmosphere, the wooden beams,
whose angles and dimensions change little by little, create a sense of
security and transparency like the shade of the trees.
